It has been nice to have a chunk of my week at home.  I got back from Vegas late on Monday, caught up on local appointments (doctor, dentist, etc.), had a couple of happy hours with friends, and then took a road trip down to Austin for a board meeting.

I love my travel time but sometimes I cherish a bit of time at home just to catch up on all the miscellany in my life.  And my favorite part of the week was the debut of a new season of Thursday night television from producer Shonda Rhimes – Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder.  Sure, I can watch them on my DVR later, but sometimes it is fun to watch them live with everyone else!

Being home means that I stay caught up on my sales and online shopping, and one BIG sale ends TODAY at noon ET – the Tumi luggage sale on Gilt

AAdvantage eShopping miles are always there and I found a few finds while doing some Saturday night shopping from my sofa.  And I love Etsy as well, especially when I find great unique travel related gifts.

I also love my monthly beauty boxes – the September Birchbox OR Ipsy battle has been decided.

I’m trying hard to catch up on my hotel reports although I’m staying faster than I’m writing.  I outlined my policy for how I write hotel reviews

… and reviewed the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport (where a suite is NOT a suite).

I also reviewed The Centurion Lounge in Las Vegas, even if I did experience a bit of shame along the way!

There was an update from the Myers family, who were determined to see #AACutOffYourNuts on a recent set of flights.

While we were reviewing all this travel, I included a retro Napa road trip report with up-to-date 2014 information.

I also shared six things you NEED to know before your next Uber ride.

Two recent pieces related to herding cats – AA and US flight attendants agreed on preliminary contract terms.  And NYC may be getting a permanent cat café.

And finally, don’t forget to check out some of the other great travel/miles writing going on with the rest of the Prior2Boarding gang.  I’ve highlighted a few of my favorites from this week.

I started some of my autumn preparations around the homestead – hopefully I’ll get more done this week.

Who knows what the next week will bring?  Another Stitch Fix box, for one thing.  Some hotels.  And no doubt some twists I can’t predict just yet, so keep reading…

… and make it a great week!

XOXO
