The Four Points can be a variable brand – from older properties with a branding-only refresh to new builds, the chain has slowly been building consistency.  This stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Sacramento International Airport highlighted what the brand “could be” with the right hard furnishing.

Arrival

I pulled into the parking lot around 10 pm on a Monday evening.  The property was constructed in recent years and is well-marked from the street and well-lit.  In addition to the hotel itself, there are two stand-alone conference centers.

Check In

Check in was fairly quick.  I waited in line for a couple of minutes – not atypical for the evening check-in time.  Once I was assisted, I had a room key quickly.

The lobby was very busy at that hour – it appeared that several teams were staying onsite.

The Room

I was assigned room 403.  I was pleasantly surprised by how bright and modern the room was.

The bedding was crisp and clean.  The mattress was firm and comfortable.

The desk area was basic and the other furnishings minimalist.  Rather than a dresser, there was a low bench with baskets for drawers.

The corner held one lone leather armchair.  (I have a similar one in my living room at home.)

Rather than a closet, the room had a large modern armoire that housed the coffeemaker, iron/ironing board, and hanging garment space.

I loved the siding door to the bathroom – a very loft-styled touch.

The bathroom was well-lit with white fixtures.  I like bathrooms that radiate cleanliness.  There was plenty of space for personal grooming.

Other Considerations

The hotel lobby has a bar/restaurant area but I did not partake as I arrived late and departed early.  The public areas of the hotel were in excellent condition.

Check Out

My checkout was quick – I had a folio in less than a minute and was on my way.

Summary

It’s nice to have a Starwood option so close to the airport and business communities to the northwest of Sacramento.  I’d definitely stay at this property again when on business in the area.  If I had known my flight would be delayed, I would have lingered longer.
