To celebrate my last day on BoardingArea as a featured blogger, I’ve got a couple of giveaways today (check back later for more!)

First up… two prizes:

1.  A pair of Cathay Pacific pajamas and matching first class amenity kit

2. A Cathay Pacific first class amenity kit.

To be entered to win the first prize (Cathay Pacific pajamas and matching first class amenity kit), you must use Facebook and/or Twitter to enter.  You will receive one entry for each of the following:

* Share a Jetsetter’s Homestead article via Twitter.  Be sure and copy @jetsettershome on the tweet so we can track it for the contest  (This is a great way to share your favorite content from this site!)  Feel free to follow us while you are there!

* Share a Jetsetter’s Homestead article via Facebook.  Be sure to share from our Facebook page so we can track it for the contest.  (Another great way to share content with friends!)  And feel free to follow that page too.

You can enter as many times as you like – just be sure to share a different article each time so your followers and friends don’t get too bored!

To be entered to win the second prize (Cathay Pacific first class amenity kit), you can simply comment below and tell us what you most like reading about here at Jetsetter’s Homestead (or what you’d like to read more about!)

I will take entries for both contests through noon Central Standard Time on Tuesday, March 10.  Prizes will be mailed out approximately one week later.  (And please be sure if you are entering the comments contest that I have a valid email for you… my last two prize winners missed out because they didn’t have emails and never responded to messages on the page to contact me!)

Check back later today for more giveaways!

  1. I like that you write on material not explicitly related to airlines/hotels as well–for example, the Lyft saga, which a friend of mine is currently experiencing, too. Keep it up, thanks!

    1. Thanks! I have a huge backlog of hotel reviews too but I always find something else to write about instead!

    1. You’ll still find me at Prior2Boarding. We have to “earn” a permanent place here on BoardingArea by building an audience, so please follow me when I return to P2B so that my return to BA for good is hastened! 😉

  2. I like the diversity of articles you write for your blog, not always focusing on miles/points but other aspects of travel

  3. I found your blog on boarding area and you have some pretty awesome stories. I am blogging myself about traveling and photography and the mix of both. Because they go perfectly together.
Thanks for the insights on how it works here, its sad that you have to build up audiencee in an extreme way. For most people that goes away from what really travel blogging is. goign away from what you really want to tell to what the audience wants to read.
But well its all about marketing and of course money.

Most travelers here just seem to run from one flight to a hotel to another flight but forget to explore the beauty of the city, country, area where ever they are. I like to explore citied of the beaten path. Of course I will visit main tourist attractions as well. Hey you cant go to san francisco and never walk over the golden gate bridge. Thats a nogo ;)!! But I also like to venture off into places most people dont know or dont go, because they dont know that they exist. Great blog by the way and i wish you all the best for the future…

    1. Thanks! I will definitely continue to write about what I like to write about. Those end up being my favorite pieces and usually the reader favorites too. BoardingArea definitely gets more traffic although I think I would write what I do even if I didn’t think anyone else was reading it. I do want to build my audience up though… knowing I have a readership keeps me from slacking!

  4. I like your Komodo Island trip report. I grew up in that country and sadly never visited the island. As you said, it’s not easy to visit the island. The country consists of over 17 thousand islands.

  5. I really like your travel/life balance posts. It’s hard to keep things in perspective sometimes and those posts do a great job showing that a life of travel isn’t all champagne and caviar haha

  6. I like the variety of items you cover on the blog.
Will definitely have t keep up with you on prior2boarding.

  7. I love reading your blog – especially your typical day kind of stuff. You deserve a place on Boarding Area right now!

  8. I love the “snapshots” of your life that you integrate with traveling. For example, your amenity drawer (master bedroom) post! Good luck and I can’t wait to read more 🙂
