Are we back to leggings again so soon?  If it is Thursday then we must be!  Today – leggings, makeovers, robots, and yes… Gwyneth freakin’ Paltrow, among other things.

Time for another installment of the Round Up.  There is where we bring the best of the internet straight to you.  So let’s begin, shall we?

We aren’t worried any longer about leggings taking flight.  Instead they are getting bum exposure.  Or is it your bum that is getting exposure?  We aren’t sure anymore.  The viral selling brand, LuLaRoe, that has been all the rage on social media is now in hot water over quality control.  It seems women are airing more than just their anger!  Perhaps wearing leggings on your next flight really isn’t a good idea if you want to fly.  Or the next Twitter exposure your leggings get might be indecent.

Perhaps the LuLaRoe legal department can borrow some of these email responses from the New Yorker.  I know I’m going to for some of the emails I dread responding to.

Speaking of humor, I often like to keep up with Gwyneth Paltrow.  And I’m not being ironic when I say that.  I tried cupping and liked it, remember?!  But I’ve had to draw the line when we go the Korean spa – that steaming thing… no!  Apparently a week on her typical diet would cost as much as a weekend trip for me.  Somehow I don’t think that is going to happen.

After all that, I need a hug… from a robot.  Or a hot water heater.  Take your pick.  (I might be projecting… it has been an expensive week around the homestead.  As I type this, we have a plumber, a roofer, AND a handyman all dealing with weather-related repairs today.  Ugh!)

All that home related stuff makes me think of the days before I actually owned a home.  Back then I was a consultant who lived out of a crash pad where I swapped out suitcases.  When I had a night in somewhere, however, I loved to watch TLC and the Food Network.  The idea of domestic bliss somehow anchored me.  My favorite person to see was Mindy Paige Davis Page (better known as “Paige Davis”) and Trading Spaces.  Those big reveals made me think that home ownership would be easy and fun.  Well… get excited people because Trading Spaces is coming back!  There is no word yet on whether any of the designers will return with their “signature” styles.

And finally, a fascinating transformation video from Cosmopolitan.  Here drag queen Alexis Michelle goes from drab to fab in less than two minutes.  I’ve watched this several times and I’m still amazed.

That’s it for this installment of the Round Up.  Do you have an interesting story to share for our next go around? Email us at jetsettershomestead (at) gmail (dot) com.
