American Airlines – Bonus Miles to Hong Kong & Shanghai
American Airlines just launched nonstop service to Hong Kong and Shanghai from Dallas-Fort Worth. These new routes open up more options to access Asia on OneWorld from the US.
In celebration of those routes, American is offering bonus miles for anyone booking and flying round-trips on those flights between June 24 and December 6, 2014. Also included is the nonstop between Shanghai and Chicago.
- Purchased first or business class fares earn 25,000 bonus miles for each round-trip
- Most economy fares earn either 5,000 or 10,000 bonus miles depending on the fare code booked
The bonus can be earned for up to four round-trips for a maximum earned mileage of up to 100,000 miles. Miles are redeemable miles only and do not count towards status qualifying.
This promo comes too late for many who took advantage of low introductory fares on these routes since only new tickets booked on or after June 24 qualify but it’s a great bonus incentive for anyone considering an Asia trip this summer or fall, especially when the variety of onward connections available on OneWorld partner Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong is considered.

Includes travel on codeshare flights marketed by US Airways and operated by American Airlines (booked under the US flight number). Includes First Class and Business Class fares booked in F, A, P, J, R, D or I; select Economy Class fares booked in Y, B, H, K, M, L, V, G, S, N, or Q on American Airlines operated flights.
Bonus miles will be awarded based on the booking class purchased and can only be earned for a maximum of four round‑trips. This offer only applies to new bookings made on/or after June 24, 2014. Flights operated by other codeshare partners are not eligible for this promotion. Bonus miles do not count toward elite status qualification or AAdvantage Million MilerSM status.
