November is usually the turning point when I begin to think beyond all the cute fall items I’ve purchased and what outfits I can create.  Instead, as the days turn colder (and especially on the weekends), my mind turns to comfort.

Hilliary Latham recently had a great piece on five items to steal from your boyfriend over at Taste the Style.

I love her style as she always was one of the most fashionable women around when she lived here in Fort Worth.  Now she’s taking New York by storm working for menswear designer Todd Snyder – and finding a way to work menswear into her everyday look.

When I think through her list, I have all of these in my closet already – but I wouldn’t mind borrowing a piece or two from a guy either!

  • Boyfriend jeans
  • Button-down shirt
  • Nice oversized sweater
  • Casual sweater/sweatshirt
  • White t-shirt

Each of these is a great packable item that can be mixed in with business separates for a high/low look when traveling.  And they are all comfortable options for a weekend away or at home if you choose to embrace a “steal his clothes” approach!

What do you think about these looks?  Ladies, are you inspired to raid a closet?  Men, do you have great pieces here we should covet?

  1. I enjoyed this post as the boyfriend items are things I have in my closet and they are multigenerational. Classics never go out of style.
