In case you missed them, here’s a round up of some interesting tidbits from around the world this week.
Supersonic Travel May Be Making a Comeback
Assuming Congress eases the prohibition of overland supersonic flights, we may have Mach 1 travel within the decade. New materials and aerodynamics may mean a 2-hour cross-country flight from New York to Los Angeles.
The Oxford Comma Goes to Court
Jennifer and I have some differences of opinion regarding the use of the Oxford comma. A Maine law concerning overtime pay was challenged by a group of dairy drivers. The court ruled the drivers were entitled to additional compensation because the law was ambiguous by the lack of an Oxford comma. I think it’s safe to say the drivers agree with me about the value of AP style.
McD’s Twitter Got McHacked
McDonald’s official twitter account was hacked this week and the people responsible are clearly not fans of Donald Trump. And although this most certainly caused a great deal of scrambling on their part, Twitter users had a field day with it.
What We Are Reading/Watching
We are binge watching Better Call Saul – Season 1-2 in preparation for Season 3 which starts April 10. (We will ignore the fact that Jennifer never watched Breaking Bad: The Complete Series and allow her a small chance for redemption!)
